The prospective-hindsight exercise, structured: state the position, list the reasons it failed as statements of fact rather than as risks, score each for severity and likelihood, then name the single observable that would end the thesis and what you will do that day. Counts how many reasons are about your own behaviour rather than the company, and argues that those are the useful half because they are the only ones you control.
